Month of Thanks: Day 6

Thinking about what I am thankful for, and there are so many things! The first 5 days were all very minor blessings, but blessings none the less.

Today I want to share something a little more meaningful:



My brother, Ryan Scott Hornsby. I am so thankful that God gave me him as a baby brother. He is such a wonderful man, seeking God and walking in the Light day in and day out. I had the privilege of him staying with my family for about 3 1/2 years, and I am amazed at his growth and maturity. He is involved in mission work and very involved in his church, helping with the youth every chance he gets and literally trusting God for every single necessity. He is a truly an inspiration, blesses my life and the life of my kids and I am thankful for him each day!!

Hi all my bloggy-friends! People may plan all kinds of things, but the Lord's will is going to be done. Proverbs 19:21 GNT I've got a short post for you today and if things go as planned (which hardly ever happens), I will blog about the first half of Nehemiah this evening after the kids are in bed and the house is quiet :) First off, I need to ask for prayer. My best friend's father is in the Critical Care Unit in Little Rock. He became unresponsive on Sunday evening and has been in/out since then. He is undergoing many tests including MRI, EEG, spinal tap, etc. Please pray for him and his family. Pray for strength, comfort and peace for my best friend Cara. This is a heart breaking situation and I am not able to be at the hospital due to work and family, so the only way I can send my love is through prayer! Thank you in advance dear friends! Turning the World Off

I need to turn the world off for a while. You ever feel like that? God deserves so much more of me and my time than I have been giving Him. Yet I give most of me to the world. How ironic is that when God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for my sins, yet I keep finding myself so caught up in this world that I don't even wake up with a breath of thanks to the One who gave me another day!  "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 I try too hard you know, to make myself and everyone around me happy. There are so many "shiny things" out there that are temporary that tempt me-and win me over more often than not. And to be honest, I am sick of it. I want relationship with my Father, The Lifter of my head. I don't just want to know that I am saved from an eternity in hell, I want to know the One saving me!
